Consultation services will cover all aspects of assessment of the parent-child contact problem (PCCP) and the resist-refuse dynamics (RRD) typically involved. We will discuss the profile of the case from legal, clinical, historical and case management perspectives. Clinical issues impacting the family system will be analyzed to help guide the reunification process.
Specific areas to address include the following:
Assessing the relationship conflict between the resisted or estranged parent and child/ren
Facilitating a plan for reunification that serves the child/ren’s best interests, benefits the family system as a whole, and acts on behalf of the family court, consistent with the Court Order
Supporting cooperation among parties involved
Working with parallel, cooperative, and collaborative parenting styles to reduce risk of further estrangement
Dealing with co-parent communication in the face of No-Contact Orders, Restraining Orders, and trauma history such as DV, incarceration, drug and alcohol issues, and allegations of abuse.
Monitoring compliance with court orders
Providing parents, attorneys, and the court with recommendations pertaining to the status and progress of reunification
Helping implement new or modified parenting time plans, provisions and schedules ordered by the court, or agreed to by the parents (parties)
Guiding professionals in expert witness preparation, responding to subpoenas, understanding the impact of litigation on the reunification process
